Los Angeles Education Corps manages College and Career Academy, a state-accredited charter high school comprised of six small, supportive learning communities located in Inglewood, Paramount, Pico-Union for minors (ages 14-19) and Long Beach, South Los Angeles, and Watts for young adults (ages 17-24). Each campus has approximately 100-130 students. Class sizes are small (15-20 students per class) and have caring teachers who are willing to work with students to help them catch back up.
On all campuses, through our Los Angeles Education Corps YouthBuild program, students train to earn certifications in fields such as construction, conservation, or certified nursing assistance. This is made possible through our partnerships with highly regarded nonprofit local and state organizations, including the LA Conservation Corps, Conservation Corps of Long Beach, YouthBuild Global, Brotherhood Crusade, California Department of Public Health, and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act program. In most cases, LAEC campuses are housed within their facilities, or we rent space within a church or other nonprofit organization. Students are provided with a variety of wrap-around services, individual and group counseling through our MSW internship program, made possible through our partnership with local universities, such as USC and UCLA. Together, we are actively engaging urban young people in holistic services in preparation for a healthy, productive adulthood. Interested in enrolling?
