Let's Work Together to Fulfill Our Missions
As your company seeks to fulfill its corporate responsibility initiative, LAEC would be honored to explore where our priorities align. Below are some specific areas where our campuses need help. We would value the opportunity to create a customized employee engagement experience that helps meet your philanthropic goals while assisting LAEC to achieve our mission. Please contact Cathy Trout, Development Director, to plan a day your employees will not forget.
For example, our TEC Pico Union site was greatly in need of a makeover. Enter Leaf Group, a internet company that owns and operates well-traveled websites such as LIVESTRONG.org and eHow. They sent over a 22-member team from their accounting department who restored an outdoor classroom, painted our math classroom, made our barbeque grill island usable again, beautified and painted our exterior lunch court/lockers and planted a brand-new vegetable garden. All in just a few hours. We're looking forward to our continued partnership with this dynamic company in support of our students. You can check out their amazing work at our campus here.

School Makeover |
Los Angeles Education Corps' organizational model is to co-locate with partner agencies that are established leaders in some of our city's most impoverished neighborhoods. Together, we provide safe, small learning communities where local young people thrive. However, given the economic condition of these areas, the aging facilities we use are often badly in need of cosmetic upgrades. So, we are looking for corporate partners who would value the opportunity to paint, construct, reorganize, plant - whatever is necessary to bring more personality to our campuses. Our students deserve the best.

Career Day Help |
Because many of the students we educate are young adults (18 to 23 years old), the need to obtain employment and/or transition directly into a career is much greater than for traditional high school students (who are minors). We highly emphasize workplace preparation and maturity. Help us put on a career fair with your employees managing logistics and inviting your connections to interview and place our students in jobs. Or, send a team of mock interviewers to give students feedback on their resumes, speaking skills, and professional attire. Hold a workshop where students learn banking skills and can set up an account to deposit their first paycheck some day. The possibilities are endless.
