The Education Corps (TEC) is a charter school with three campuses: South LA/Saito High School, Pico Union/Saito High School, and Long Beach. Each campus is a small learning community with approximately 75-130 students. Class sizes are small (15-20 students per class) and have caring teachers that are willing to work with students to help them catch back up. Since 1996, the TEC South LA/Saito High School campus has been partnering with the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, which provides students with a variety of wrap-around services, such as counseling, case management, and paid job training in the field of conservation. This campus, and our TEC Pico Union campus, are named after Bruce Saito, the longtime executive director of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps and current director of the California Conservation Corps. Along with partnering with the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, TEC Pico Union also works with artworxLA to offer students vocational training in the arts. Our newest TEC campus is located in Long Beach and partners with Conservation Corps of Long Beach.
The Education Corps has campuses in the communities listed below. All campuses are for young adults (students 17 to 24 years old). If you are interested in enrolling, call one of the campuses below near you and ask for the principal. New classes generally start every three months. |
